Each question can be answered with a couple sentences. There are two essay questions that require a short paragraph 1)What is one criminological explanation as to why young men make up a large portion of offenders and victims of violent crime? 2)Watch this short clip about the rise in crime resulting from the recent oil boom in North Dakota (the same one viewed in class on December 9). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19p0dJfEWQ0 What theory can best explain the crime increase in this North Dakota city? Please explain exactly how this theory is illustrated by this case. 3)Two “riots” occur in Miami, Florida. One involves a crowd of drunk spring-breakers who randomly destroy property surrounding the hotel they are staying at. Nobody is arrested; police just force everyone back into their rooms. In another incident the following day, protestors gather outside a state government building to demand that people receive relief from the economic impacts of Covid-19 and a reform in the police department. One person breaks a glass window and riot police move in and violently disperse the crowd, and arrest several protestors. How would a critical criminologist interpret the distinct treatment of these two groups?
