Clearly stated research topic and questions. (1 pt):
Begin with the statement of your research topic and state your research question(s) as relationships between abstract concepts that speak to your research question.
Quality of hypotheses (2 pts). Then, formulate your research one or two hypotheses to test your RQ.
Propose your hypotheses as concrete connections between measurable variables. Your hypotheses must be clear and to the point. Your research hypotheses must reflect the literature you reviewed in assignment
3.Measurement and operationalization (2 pts).
Identify and operationalize the independent variable (IV) and dependent variable (DV). Clearly explain how your main variables will be measured.
Sampling methods and/or Study area(2pts).
Explain your target population. Identify a specific sampling method you will use and explain why you selected that method.
For example, simply stating “random sampling” or “representative sampling” will not suffice. Make sure you specify your sample size.
If you are not using a sample, justify why you do not need to select a sample.
Depending on your topic, it may be necessary to identify a (hypothetical) study area.
Data collection method and/ or data source (4pts).
Explain how your data will be collected.
Explain how you will measure your IV and DVFor instance, if you are using survey, what is the mode of survey distribution and structure? Specify the questions together with response options you will use.
If you are using existing data, identify your data source and how original data were collected.
Also specify how you will utilize existing measures to measure your IV and DV.
Remember that your data collection method must be feasible.
Reference information (1 pt): Provide full reference information in APA style.
You must cite every source within the text of the paper.
You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.
Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.
Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.
The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.
