Answer the following questions. Briefly describe Keplers three laws of planetary motion. How did Newtons laws of motion and law of universal gravitation validate Keplers laws? List the parts of the electromagnetic spectrum. What types of telescopes are useful from the Earths surface? What can they observe? Explain how light is produced at the atomic level. Distinguish between emission, absorption, and continuous spectra. What can absorption and emission spectra tell us about stars? Why do modern astronomers place telescopes in orbit about the Earths atmosphere? What types of objects can be observed from those telescopes that arent visible from the Earths surface? The use of outside sources is optional, but you must provide citations and references in APA format for any sources you use
Your paper should be 5-10 pages in length. No title page is required or desired. On top of the 5-10 pages requirement, you need one page of References (Works Cited). The internet is a huge resource filled with lots of bad and dated information. You may cite your references any way you like (Chicago format, MLA, ) your choice. Please this class is a Physical Science: Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence class. This class isn’t about aliens but about the galaxy but rather the broad issues in accepting evidence of terrestrial life. I just need the paper to be just about how the universe was made.

There are no official limits or minimums on this paper, but it should be similar the examples. There is also no citations numbers requirement, two or three is good.
There’s Weather in Space? Full Description Space Weather merges astronomy and meteorology to explain how events on the Sun and in near-Earth space can adversely impact the operation of Earth-orbiting satellites, communications systems, and many other systems on or near the Earth. Go to www.windows2universe.org/space_weather/sw_intro/overview.html to learn a bit about it. After reading this site (note that you can read the same information at either a beginner, intermediate or advanced level), discuss some aspect of space weather (what it is, how it’s studied, its effect on us, etc.) that you find particularly interesting. Instructions: Your initial post should be at least 250 words.
Exercise: Formal Paper A minimum four page research paper regarding the topic of Constellations and Stars will be part of the project. The content of the paper must include short but detailed summary of the history of how the constellations we have today came to be (giving an example of the history of origin of a few constellations, how were the 88 that we have today determined by the IAU etc.) Include the formation of the IAU and how decisions were made regarding constellations, also tell us about 2 recent decisions/findings made by the IAU in the past 5 years. Based on the constellations you observed, you will also research at least 5 stellar objects that reside in one or more of your constellations, giving a brief summary on each in your own words, including characteristics such as, type, magnitude, location in the constellation and any unique qualities. (Note: these objects can range from stars to nebula to galaxies; do not use information posted in any of our Discussion topics.) The paper must have an introduction and conclusion, be well organized and have a professional appearance. The content of thepaper needs to be a least 4 pages (excluding images, tables, etc., quotes should be used at a minimum), in APA format, and it should be double-spaced, with Times New Roman font size 12 and 1-inch margins. Step 1: Read the article Milky Way’s black hole flared 2 million years ago. Step 2: Next go online and research more about supermassive black holes, using reliable sites. Find at least one (1) site that has information about supermassive black holes, not just the Milky Ways black holes. Step 3: Lastly, after completing the online research and reading the article, answer the following questions: 1) What additional information did you uncover in regard to supermassive black holes? How does this compare to the Astronomy article Milky Ways black hole flared 2 million years ago? 2) Why do you think astronomers use two different names for the Milky Ways black hole; Sagittarius A* and Sgr A*?3. 3) It was noted that the last outburst was Like a fossil record of a huge outburst of energy. What do you suppose is meant by that statement? 4) What type of fireworks might astronomers see when the Milky Ways black hole again becomes active in the near future, as soon as this year? Does it pose any danger to us on Earth? Why or Why not?
This is for a forum – just casual – no need for a cover page or references. No big words – very laid back. Week 6 – E.T., Phone Home? You have two options for your forum assignment this week. Choose just one of the two numbered options below, but be sure to answer all questions included in your chosen option. 1) Like other popular media, the World Wide Web is full of claims of the existence of “extraterrestrial intelligence”—namely, UFO sightings and alien abductions. There are two parts to this question, and you must answer both if you choose this option: (A) choose a website of this kind and analyze its content using the idea of Occam’s razor, the principle that if there is more than one viable explanation for a phenomenon, one should choose the simplest explanation that fits all the observed facts. (B) read what a skeptical website has to say about UFO sightings. A good example is the website of the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal, or CSICOP. After considering what you have read on both sides of the UFO debate, discuss your opinions about whether aliens really have landed on Earth. 2) Imagine that astronomers have discovered intelligent life in a nearby star system. Imagine you are part of a group submitting a proposal for who on Earth should speak for the planet and what 50-word message should be conveyed. Be sure to answer all three questions below, if you choose this option. (A) Who should speak for Earth and why? (B) What should this person say in 50 words? (C) Why is this message the most important compared to other things that could be said?
