Final project, ART 106 Modern and Contemporary ArtCurate an exhibitionPromptImagine you are a curator and organize an exhibition of Contemporary Art using 5-6 artworks chosen from some of the art exhibitions listed below. The topic of the exhibition is designed by you, the curator. You will conceive the topic for the show, its title, select the artworks, write a curatorial statement about the exhibition and write individual labels for the artworks, doing a short formal analysis and explaining the importance of the artwork, using your own words. A curator also decides how to place the exhibition in the space. The exhibition you curate must have:1.- a title related to the topic of the exhibition2.- an exhibition statement (2-3 paragraphs) on the topic that will guide the exhibition, including its relevance and a thesis statement on the goal of the exhibition. The exhibition statement written by the student, using their ownwords.3.- 5-6 artworks selected from the exhibitions listed below that will support your statement.[5 or 6 is the minimum, and must come from the exhibitions listed below. However, you can include additional artworks or images from other sources of your choice, but they must be additional to the 5-6]4.- individual labels for each artwork:The labels must be 2 paragraphs long and make evident how the artwork relates to your exhibition’s topic (how it expands on it, treats it), as well as a short formal analysis of important aspects the curator/you want the viewers to notice. For example, a label often refers to formal aspects that advance the argument/topic and are particular to the artwork. Labels must be written by the student using their own words. If you want to include quotes, then quotation marks must be used and the sources must be acknowledged in footnotes on the labels. Any instance of plagiarism will receive a 40 point deduction.5.- a diagram, draft, or plan as to how the artworks will be placed in the exhibition. [the simplest way to imagine an exhibition space is to use a simple rectangle to act as the exhibition room using one or more walls and/or the space in-between, or you can imagine something entirely different in terms of space]. Think about how you will organize the objects in your exhibition: it could have subtopics, it could tell a narrative, it could be chronological, thematic, by color, size, etc.IMPORTANT: NO PLAGIARISM, using words of others and passing them as your own; also, avoid paraphrasing others. You can turn in the assignment through Blackboard as:PDF file (you can scan it or turn a doc into pdf)owerpoint/googleslide share (provide a link in the submission and make sure the professor can open it)A word doc (if it is a booklet, for instance)Uploading photographs of the assignment (check quality/resolution of image to make it legible). What is the criteria for evaluation?
